How Do I Move Up to Upper Level Hoop, Hammock, or Silks?

Edited

In general, to move up to the Upper Level Aerial classes, you need to have 80% of your Hoop, Hammock, or Silks card marked as proficient and a mastery of the bolded moves on the respective card.

Each aerial class has its own card to track your progress and understanding of the apparatus. To mark something proficient means you know what the move is called and how to enter and exit the move safely. Upper Level Aerial classes build off of these moves, so the foundational moves are important.

Instructors will be looking at the overall progression of strength in a student to move them up, too. Conditioning moves like knee tucks, bent arm and straight arm hangs, and grip strength are important for the Upper Level classes.

If you think you're ready to move up and an Instructor hasn't yet told you, you can always email the studio and request access. At that time the staff will either clear you or tell you what you need to work on to be eligible.
